London and Manchester Blue Chippers Get Their Jog On

10th September 2015

Blue Chippers have been getting their jog on this month with London and Manchester team members both taking on different running challenges.

On a wet Autumnal evening in early September, Blue Chip’s London office took a break from the daily grind to make their way to Regent’s Park for LGN’s 9th annual 5km race. Bringing together the best and brightest from the world of Marketing and Media under the guise of fitness, this was Blue Chip’s first run in the event.

Following an extended group warm up, it was time for business. Blue Chip’s resident Marathon runner (and Senior Account Executive) Jayne Edwards forced her way to the front of the pack early on and continued in this vein for the entirety of the run. Jayne finished in 19 mins 40 seconds, earning her a spot on the podium as the 3rd fastest female.

Account Director Andrew’s gazelle-like strides weren’t enough to keep him in front of Account Exec Kit who, thanks to a late burst of energy, abandoned Andrew on the home straight to come home as the second Blue Chip finisher.

Harry crossed the line with a personal best time of 30 mins 19 seconds and a grin from ear-to-ear – undoubtedly spurred on by the promise of a trip to the pub.

Blue Chip’s final competitor was Business Director, Myrtle Doyle, for whom the inter-agency run came as a welcome test as she’s currently preparing for a trek up the Himalayas later on this year.

The campaign is for those men and women who are willing to run further, faster or harder for a whole month – and make a vital difference for people with cancer.

Whilst they normally clock up an average of 70km per month, in September they’re going the extra mile (or rather 18 miles) to make it a round 100km.

Despite all being in aid of charity, this hasn’t stopped the pair from a little friendly competition in their attempts to reach the finishing line. If you want to fuel this fire, feel free to sponsor your person of choice at their respective just giving pages. You can find Frank’s here, and Shelley’s here.

And finally (*cheesy sign off pun alert*) if you’d like to hear how Blue Chip could go the extra mile for your brand, then please drop either Ian (0161 833 4300) or Myrtle (0207 998 0110) a line.
