Blue Chip’s Ladies Day At Aintree Races

Given our recent appointment by Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer, we felt a trip to Aintree, home of their titular Grand National, had to be on the cards for our early Blue Chip Summer Do this year.

The Chippers arrived bright and early at the Aintree Hall of Fame for Ladies Day, with the sun shining down on the gathered crowd.

IMG_4438With hospitality including extra large helpings of wine and beer, and only teeny tiny tasting portion of food, it wasn’t long before spirits were most definitely high.

The mood was further enriched when no less than two of our team from the Manchester office – Alice Moseley and Alana Davis – were plucked from the thousands of visitors to make the final of the Ladies Day Aintree Style Awards.

There was a one in ten chance of taking away a £35,000 Range Rover and £8,000 of shopping vouchers, but sadly they were pipped at the post by Anna Gilderoy from Durham, who walked away with the coveted title.  Still, they made the Liverpool Echo, and you can read the full story here.13006497_10154049402289449_3180800871146304625_n

The guys from Creative took some dodgy betting advice from their taxi driver, only accepting the error of their ways when the horse, which they had also persuaded countless others to bet on, started running the wrong way round the track!

By contrast, our too-cool-for-school intern Ash proved the big winner of the day, ending it a full £85 up following a couple of big wins. We’re expecting sweets and biscuits to appear on our table of temptation shortly.

A few hardcore Chippers managed to go all the way to the finishing line, dancing into the evening in the Red Rum Garden, a feat only made possible by the incredible entertainment put on by Crabbie’s, and only made comfortable by their free flip flop giveaway.
